Darrent Williams Memorial Site

Darrent Williams was a 24 year old professional football player playing for the Denver Broncos in the NFL. He was killed early this morning in a shooting after a New Year's Eve party in Denver, Colorado.

We have established a Darrent Williams Memorial Site , and would be interested in your constructive comments, kudos or suggestions.

It's a simple design designed for speed and simplicity, based on the WordPress platform with a few design elements optimised for SEO.

Thanks,

Rob

For one, i'm not sure whether you had personal ties to Darrent Williams, so let me extend my condolences to you.

I would take an entirely different approach in terms of creating a lasting memory of a football player that played in the NFL.

The google ads need to be less "present" as they are, it's about the player, not about the sales, especially given the circumstances.
To remember the player, as in athlete, i would expect to see photos of the one thing that he lived, breathed and sweat for,...Football. Him on the field, in action, preserve what he's known for.....playing football and being good enough to make it into the NFL.

Add the guest book for fans and fellow players to add their thoughts, wishes and condolences in a more prominent spot, it's "just a tab" right now. For many users, fans and fellow players, this is probably one of the reasons to come to the site; to say their final good-byes.
Add a link to a foundation that he would have chosen to continue and carry on his memory.
Tune the bright colors down a bit and give it a touch of Broncos colors, that should greatly facilitate what Darrent Williams stood for.
Loading times is not what this site should be built for; people/users accessing this page are not so much concerned about the loading times of the page but about the memory, pictures and player Darrent Williams.

These are just a few thoughts that came to my mind immediately. Please don't get me wrong here, i think it's a damn great thing to establish this site for him, but while you're already at it, do it with a bit more "psychological precision".

Best of luck and again, sorry for the loss!
Mike
