Need feedback and suggestions with new forums

Hi all,

We have started new forums at http://www.xanersoft.com/forums/

I know few things which are needed like more good looks, reputation system, iTrader system, may be few new topics, but I need more ideas.

We really want to make it big success.

Please have a visit and let me know feedback.

Also we have marketplace where people can advertise their services and sites. Also there is a special category for those who are looking for service provider. Let me know your views on these topics.

I'll be happy if you come with suggestions and feedbacks.

It's not really fair to ask for feedback to be posted at your forum.

It's nothing but advertising really.

I will keep this thread open, just bare it in mind for the future.

It doesn't look bad, what lets it down is the bad quality logo and (this may seem controversial) the forum software.

phpbb is dying, many people will now choose not to use phpbb due to its insecurity, lack of features and unfriendly GUI. Especially for a Web Design forum, i would suggest using a software such as SMF or Vanilla.

SMF, for a design forum? Come on, SMF has one the worst posible interfaces for Web Software.

Also, PhpBB is dying? Where did you here that!
PhpBB is still the number one choice for free forum software.

True, SMF does look a bit ugly. But it can be easily customized to look good.

Perhaps saying phpbb is dying is an over statement, but it is not as popular as it used to be. Other forum softwares such as SMF, Vanilla, and especially the new release of MyBB are becoming ever more popular.

Lots of great themes for SMF and I think it looks pretty good :-) I use it.

Right now its just a normal phpbb forum with some adsense thrown on the top and bottom if your going to use phpbb for sure then get a new skin customise it since you going to run a forum a forum for a web design company you ned to do much better.
