Brand New Portal Launched Utilizing Ajax - Take a look

I just launched my new entertainment site a few days ago and would like to encourage my fellow forum members to check-it-out and take it for a spin. I have the home page and the polls page ready right now and the forum will be up and running soon. In the near future I want to introduce games, contests and other fun pages.

Please let me know of any bugs you encounter. Anything you like or dislike. Performance, loading times, etc...

thanks

#1- Change that header color. Purple is a terrible color for something like this.
#2- Make the background white or something. For me, the term AJAX brings to mind a white background (don't know why, it just does)
#3- Get rid of the red dotted outline whenever I try to move one of the widgets.

Hmm too much ajax?

Play around with the colours and I think you're going to have a very nice portal

Oh, I like purple....but you might be right :-)

Thanks for your comments JBSHosting,

White=Ajax, Ajax is/was a cleanser and it had bleach in it I think.

Red dotted outline, it is suppposed to show you where you can place the block. I kinda thought it was helpful.

Thank you for your comments w1ww,

Too much Ajax, I guess it is a bit of a novelty but I am very intersted in new technologies and programming. Right now everyone is using Ajax for those cool hover previews of links, I want to use it a little differently on my site. Right now only the home page and polls page is using Ajax. I do like the poll animation (via Ajax) when you click vote.

Yes those colors seem to not be too popular. I really like a black background for entertainment though. What color combonations can you recommend? Anything with black background?

thanks

I personally like the black/blue and grey(silver?)/white color schemas.

Much better. However, I have seen that SMF skin somewhere before...

By the way, are you from NJ? The NJ in the URL, does that signify New Jersey?

I am from Canada, Toronto area. I just liked the domain name and bought it, thought it rolled off the tongue nice and my kids names both being with 'J' so I liked that too.

The skin is a free one that I had modified slightly.

I took a peek at the forum in your signature and it is very high-tech looking, love the look of the scrolling screen. I might just go for black and white and use a purple logo to get my fix of the color.

thanks

The purple in that idea will look REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad. Black + White + Purple = BARF
