Help! Wallpaper, Flash Games and Blog site

Hey all,

I've got three sites that I would like input on.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/252714-wallpaper-flash-games-and-blog-site.html

1) http://www.freewallpapers4u.com
This is my main earner, getting about $1 per day (though 2 days ago got $4 for some strange reason). I recently added some Shoemoneyads that are yet to provide any income.

What do you think of general design and also placement/colours of advertisements? Any tips?

2) http://www.freeflashgames4u.com
I tried getting this up and running, but income has been low and constantly changing. Recently changed to this design and added some Shoemoneyads. Any ideas for improvement?

3) http://www.james5.org
This isn't a for profit blog. More just a personal one. I've been modifying the Unsleepable wordpress theme, but it's just not feeling right. Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks

Dev

The wallpapers site looks cluttered and overrun with ads.

The flashgames is better layed out and the ads are well integrated into the site.

Love the blog. The subtle hints of green were a great choice.

WallPaper Site:

The "welcome" ad copy needs to be cleaned up. Way too wordy IMHO. Look at the key points you're trying to communicate, then break them down into bullet points. Try this:

A brief intro line or phrase

Key Point 1
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=252714

Key Point 2

Key Point 3

Key Point 4

A brief closer line to wind it up and "ask for the sale".

Flash Games Site:

I'd add some flash to your logo. It's pushing flash games after all.

Make your category section up top a little bigger and easier to read. Maybe add some buttons? The different color blue helps though.

Colors are a little harsh for my old eyes, especially the orange title bars.

Blog Site:

Pretty nice. Like the colors. I would try to separate the entries a bit more though. There's a lot of content there and it's looking rather "busy".

Overall, very nice work!!!

The freewallpaper4u design looks standard and easy to the eye. Though it's overun by ads, but the ads somehow blend into the template very nicely. Overall it is not bad design for this type of site.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=252714

The design freeflashgame4u is not great. It's look so unprofessionally design. I guess in my personal taste, it's too a common design, so I didn't like it. Plus there is a huge blue unused space on the right column. Not a good design, and so you need to be more creative on designing this one.

The james5 one is fine. I love just the way it is. Simple and easy to the eye, but with a touch of sophistication in design. Meaning the template contains both quality of simple and sophistication. Love it... I think you should just leave it and do not need to redesign this one.

wow everyone, thanks for the input. i will get to make some of those changes after exams!

TcDa: thanks for the input on the welcome text, i guess i was mainly trying to get lots of good keywords in there. it's a great idea to split it up though. ta. not sure what you mean by "ask for the sale" though...

do you guys think the wallpaper site has too many adds? is it mainly the Shoemoneyads?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=252714

argh2xxx: yeah you're right about it being used a lot. i haven't time to personalise it much. i'm not sure how best to fill up that extra space in the right bar. i reckon i'll try interspersing some googleads between each category block. just hope that doesn't make it overrun with ads!

i just added images next to my google ads and have seen a dramatic increase in revenue. i will keep fiddling with this once exams are over. shoemoneyads are still not generating any revenue so i'll leave them for a month and then dump them if there is nothing.

thanks everyone!

I've been in sales and marketing for way too many years. One of the most common mistakes new salespeople make is going through all the work of demonstrating how great their product/service is, and then NOT finishing their presentation by simply inviting the shopper to buy. This is called "asking for the sale". It's your closer. It's when you tell your shopper to take action. Remember... even though your stuff is free, you ARE marketing. Whether we're selling cars, grills, domains, or missile parts, once you've laid out your case for how great your widget is, you need to bring your reader to the point that you ask them to buy, click, download, or simply support your sponsors/partners.

Hope this helps!
