recipeFREAK

Hey,

Just (pretty much) finished a new recipe site.

Can I get your reviews on it and any (constructive) suggestions whatsoever?

The site is:

www.recipeFREAK.com

Have a browse around as well - don't just comment on the index page.

Thanks a lot,

TM

mch is on a distinguished road

I like the random food photo on the front page! But sometimes it's hard to read the white text over it.
About the rest, I think you need more color, more graphical elements, like headers and icons. It's just too much plain black-on-white text.

Cheers,
mch

Nice site, Colin! I like the navigation bar in particular.

I think it needs more graphics to be implemented, however. I don't know though, it's your site

Thanks for sharing it,
Nick

wolvenraider is an unknown quantity at this point

Nice banner, nice implenting your ads, however the ad colour is slightly darker than your banner's

Your google ads at the left should be moved a few pixels to the right, they stop your line view.

The boxes with: Random 5 Recipes,... need a valign="top" now some content is in the middle of the box while other boxes are at the top.

Use some colours, images,... make it more alive, now it is a boring website below your big image (above it is okay).

there is a problem with your search layout: http://www.recipefreak.com/browse.ph...xingr=,%20,%20, try it yourself
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/242804-recipefreak.html

You might want to think about changing the colours of your search, find buttons to match your layout.

It might be my pc, but your footer isn't showed at th elogin, register and search page.

Give your site some more colours and make it more alive, and it will be okay Nice start, but it needs a lot more work.

Thanks Nick. A lot of people are saying it needs more graphics - I agree, but I'm not sure what exactly to put :/

On my monitor I can't see any difference I don't think that'd be much of a problem anyway.

More graphics would be nice, but I wouldnt go overboard, otherwise you will lose loading speed.
Check the footer on your search login and register pages. It is not sitting at the bottom of the page, more like midways up, at least using netscape. I shall try it in some more browsers also.

Other than that It is a nice site.
