Aardwolf.com - Please review.

This is actually a long established site, not a new site for review. The site is the web presence for an online text RPG (known as a MUD - Multi User Dungeon).

It has been successful in attracting existing MUD gamers and the game itself is now one of the largest on the net. However, switching focus, I would like to invest in some adsense/similar and try to get some new users into the game who may not be existing MUD players.

Having folks here take a look at the site will be extremely interesting because of the deep knowledge in web design, but (probably) little or no knowlege of MUDS.

After looking at the site, did you get a good sense of what this is all about, how to get started, why you should care and want to play in the first place, etc?

All constructive feedback welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just in case anyone wonders why a site online since 1996 has no PR, we only recently acquired the domain Aardwolf.com, prior to that it was www.aardmud.org

I think that if you actually know what a MUD is it might be quite appealing to play, but if you are completely new to MUDs... those visitors will most likely not understand too much of now what it exactly is.

Especially younger people which have completely missed out on the days where MUDs were one of the most common forms of online gaming. I actually tried explaining the concept of a MUD to a few friends in the past and every single time they remained clueless on what I was talking about till you'ld like show them a screencap of the client, showing them that their thinking of it perhaps being text-based is correct.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/232930-aardwolf-com-please-review.html

I think that in the new to mud section you could like implent 1 or 2 screencaps of the MUD so everybody gets this concept.

For people with a minor knowledge of MUDs the site looks good, finding the features and statistics is done easily, other information is quickly accessible as well, looks good.

I know what a mud is... nice looking site..
But all muds are different, so maybe add more info to you "how to" like http://www.aardmud.org/index.php?id=OLguidep2 , you give directions for training, but you don't say from where on, since you log in ? can I go back rapidily to start point..

There are so many commands like always :-) :-)
