Is it any good? Did I overdo the adsense? Are the colors okay? Easy enough to navigate? .... yada yada yada. Thanks for looking.

too much gray. I don't like the colors. It's easy to navigate but the white background with light gray text "links" doesn't look good.

I agree with rocca, the colors need help. Gray text on gray background is not going to work. Othervise the content is pretty good and the asense isnt too much. Maybe on the first page cos there isnt much conent. You can try adding somethign that will rovide fresh content to the site like articles about the outdoors or you can write stuff.
