i agree with the logo thing. You need to remove the shadow, and get a better picture without half the face missing. Otherwise, that site is amazing, and the only real thing I can pick up on is all the shiny silver, which is verging towards forum look, and not really friendly social networking site - not a big problem, but if you look at other social networking sites, they are usually full of color and fun/happy/bubbly websites. What you have is alright though, and unless you were really discontented with it, I would just leave it! All the pictures of people will break up the silver and white anyway!

Tom

I have just noticed the navigation actually.

The whole "block" changes shape when you mouseover, but only the words are clickable.

I think that you should make the whole block clickable. something like:
Code:
<div class="active" onmouseover="this.className='over'" onmouseout="this.className='active'" style="cursor: pointer;cursor: hand;" onClick="location.href='http://hey.im/index.php'"><a href="http://hey.im/index.php" title="Home">Home</a></div>
I have added " style="cursor: pointer;cursor: hand;" onClick="location.href='http://hey.im/index.php'"" into the DIV tag.

the style bit changes the cursor when you mouseover the div. You need both pointer and hand because different browsers recognise different names. Basically the mouse changes to the hand, signifying a link.

The onClick bit just bascially links to the next page.

I use it on www.sixsearch.net, becasue I don't acctually link the different searches on the homepage, rather I use javascript to change the different modes, and the pointer comes in useful then. On www.roadbusters.com i use it as well. In the header (if you view source). Basically, the way I wanted to do the header didn't permit for a static hyperlink, so I just linked the whole cell in the way shown above.

Its just a thought, but it was really annoying to have to keep clicking the words

the words on the logo are ok, its just the picture on the left. At least you should remove the dropshadow on it.

Good Luck

Detailed Analysis

To start off, you have a great domain. That's why I decided to add a 'Website Domain' section to my ratings. Easy to remember, and suits the site well.

Colour is probably one of the biggest things I find missing on your site. Even your banner only has two colours. As a social network, it should be bright in colours at attract visitors. That is probably something you should consider.

In addition, your website 'Latest News' section text has overflowed. See this:

Your About Us page needs improvement. I'm sure people are more interested about your site and what it has, rather than the domain name extension.

I was overwhelmed by your Join form. Too many questions! Maybe you should only ask the essentials and let the user fill in the rest when they feel like it. I don't want to waste a lot of time filling in the information when later I decide that the site is not for me!

The shoutbox disappears at the bottom of the window - maybe you should cut it off at a certain post as well. You should also get your FAQ up ASAP. I also suggest a better Privacy Policy that is more detailed and covers all the issues. There are several free Privacy Policy creators out there.

And on a small note, get your site a favicon.

Good luck.

Review by Anthony Lieu. Your site was accessed on a ADSL T1 connection, on Mozilla Firefox with a screen resolution of 1280x1024. Thank you for allowing me to review your website design - I hope it was useful.
