I wasn't even sure if I should put my site in my signature, but its not supposed to be vulgar or obscene site: http://www.screamandrant.com. I just put up the board a couple days ago. Just wondering what you guys think of the theme. I thought it goes along with the site.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

+Nice graphics
+good background

-It's way to red for me. Red (which makes you angry btw ) IMO can be mixed with a few other colours like white
-Where's your logo with your sitename?
-The nav's very hard to read for me
-It's hard on the eyes

Overall:
I would say it's a nice forum, but it's a bit too red though I love the graphics used

agree with you, you should have made it blue, it would be better for our eyes, lol

The Bad

You have the standard VBulletin logo (change it to match the theme).
Your banner doesn't have your name or anything (should have it so people easily recognize your site).
The site feels too skinny to me.
The grey box at the bottom should match the theme.
The site is way too red.
The buttons 3 squares remind me of PHPBB.

The Good

Fast load.
You are not using the standard theme.
Site has a clean look to it.

Hi. First of all, the template looks good. The red needs to be edited a bit with some other colours I think. The forum has also a nice banner. Second, the forum and categories structure is very good.

yep, it is a stock theme that I got from http://www.extremepixels.com/vb/scar...se_details.php. My point was to ask what you guys thought about it with relation to the purpose of the site and how it could be improved relative to my site.

I definitely wasn't trying to hide the fact that I bought it. The branding is on the bottom of each page.

I actually like the red everywhere... A bunch of websites are so into blues and purples that It begins to get boring... keep the red! You could put other colors here and there.. but keep the red!

You need a favicon. Browsers with tabs will be more attracted to the website if it has an eyecatching favicon, and not the standard vbulliten one.

A logo to go with that favicon would help the site alot. even if it's clipart of some cartoon guy yelling... something eyecatching but not tacky, that fits with the theme and design of the site.

You might want to make the administration area into a private forum, as most successful forums do. People often feel uncomfortable if they feel that the site owner is new at this, or struggling... it doesn't breed confidence in the site if new users can see the posts (or lack of) in the administration area.

The General are is lacking the sarcastic titles of the rest of the forums; jazz it up a bit, make it interesting, and not just a forum area to be overlooked. This area needs to fit with the theme of the rest of the site. Maybe the introduction area can have a subtitle like "Oh great.. another n00b who wants to cry about his mean mommy"

Ah, yes, that brings me to another idea...
Everyone has problems with their family. Everyone can relate to problems with family, because everyone (except orphans) has a family. So... you might make a forum to rant about family members. It should be member's only though, for privacy reasons. (no-one wants to google their own name, to find out that thier sister absolutely loathes them!)

I'm going to stick with the red because I think it goes with the theme of the side, but I'll definitely add some color to it.

Going to add a banner and favicon as well.

daughterofeve, I've gone ahead and added the family forums and removed the administration forums from view.
