I think its a good start.

A little too blocky and a lot of the text doesn't line up. IE - The featured search button- why is it left aligned? (I am viewing this on a Mac).

Also I suggest making the featured header shorter. Why is it such a big box?

Again, I think its a good start. I would consider making a lot of the boxes have rounded corners! Like the one where your logo is.

Also the categories should stand out more. I could take them out of the black background and center "Categories" but left align the categories themselves.

Your about 65% done I would say. I give this layout a 5.5/10.

Hope it helps!

Site review

Hi. Welcome to NamePros!

HistoricaBooks

First of all, I like the template. It has good colours, banner with past pictures (the tank), the logo is also wonderful. Second, the content is well-based. Third, I think you might want to create a forum for your site.

Keep up the good work!

Overall Rating: 9/10

Good luck with your site!

If you liked my review and comments, you can add rep for me.

Regards.

I think it looks ok but some things could be editted a little..

I think the links at the top should be pushed right to the top (So you don't have any of the image of the logo above)

Also on the left side, where you have Photo Files, Articles and Blog..Put the Blog link below the Articles link. and make the width of that box the same width as the customer service box.

In my opinion it's quite a nice layout but it still needs a little "touching up".

Test Changes - a question

Based on your great comments I am looking at making a site wide change to the placement of the navigation element.
However I am undecided about where the book category hyperlinks should go.
Here's my test link:
http://www.historicabooks.com/test.html

Question 1:
The categories of books that are sell are vitally important so I feel like they should be located in good real estate - i.e. in the top left hand corner (in the black box) but I also feel that look the best in the second horizontal red line.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/210050-please-review-my-site.html
So I really need some opinions - if I placed these links in the horizontal area would I lose some folks? Or even some business?

Question 2:
I do have some secondary links - blog, photo file, articles etc. that I would place in either in the top left hand area (black box) or second horizontal red line - depending on the answer to question 1.

Thanks in advance,

Andy
