Hi,

Not bad.

I think the grey header could be reduced, make it smaller, it's rather big at the moment.

Also, the nav' going down the page, i think that should be closer to the white content box, About the same distance apart as the distance between both white boxes.

I think you should put the language images more to the right, and remove the ">>" from "mijn offerte".

Other than that, looks good

Adrian

I would have used plain hmtl. If I wasn't here to review the site I would have left as soon as I saw that loading bar. Your site doesn't need flash, maybe make it on "normal" html. The design is nice, you need content, but it's nice

First of all thanks for all the comments guys!

@hitch:

I will look into the header and see if changes are possible and if the client will accept. Did you use IE or another browser? I know IE is still showing strange distances (will work on that) but other browsers should already render it the same.

@dojo

No Flash on this page (really don't like doing flash), I just put the loader image because it's loading quite slow and other wise you would stare at a with screen for a few secs.

Thanks again, rep added!

The logo and design are pretty cool but the initial load time is wierd and uncalled for. I don't know why you would have a loading time. I didn't see any flash or anything that would be used. My biggest recommendation would be to get rid of the initial load time.

Well, I you have any suggestions on how to do so.... please share! I've been looking into it and since the site is all CSS and the few graphics are totally optimized, the only thing causing the load time is the extensive JavaScript libraries I am using (Dojo and Prototype).

If you have any suggestions or think the load time might be caused by something else, please let me know! Tnx!

[1] After I change the language to UK, it still has some text not in English. I assume this is under construction.

[2] With the pluche(dd) page, some images go off the box, and under the background layer.

[3] Very good CSS for the layout. Javascript time loading is a bit long.

[4] Maybe shorten the white background for the banner, it takes up a bit of room.

[5] Flags should be moved a touch to the right, and maybe a bit brighter

Good concept. Good luck with the site and business.

Hope you find this helpful. Rep appreciated.

dojo, what are you talking about? ("normal" html)

You would have used "plain/normal" html because you like to use bandwidth any only have certain people view your site right. Who cares about the other browsers, right?

Site looks good. Some suggestions:

- On the pluche(e) page, some images do not show completely, they are too far to the left

- The Loading thing I dont understand.

- On the side of the "Content Box", where it says "DINOTRADING B.V." vertically, maybe you could use the same size as the logo on the top of the page (maybe slightly bigger, but keeping the same character spacing.)

- And lastly maybe centering the "© 2006 All rights reserved - Dino Trading" with the content box.

Thanks man, appreciated and rep added. Indeed, some language issues are still worked on, the client keeps changing his mind on which parts of the site should change language.

And yeah, the loading time is quite anoying, I am looking into possibilities to just go with the Dojo libraries and leave Prototype out of it, that should speed things up a bit. I'll try messing around with the banner's height and the flags and see what rolls out of it.

Dan, I have absolutely now clue what you're talking about? "I would have used plain/normal html?", we HAVE used plain/normal HTML. "...only certain people view your site...", again: what the hack are you talking about? Mind clearing up your post a bit? Thanks!

Again, thanks for all the reviews guys, rep added.

Site review

Hi. First of all, the frontpage is quite empty. You need to put some stuff to it. Maybe you want to add a new page there. Second, I like that there are multiple languages that the site can be translated to. Well done on that.

The site needs a news page I guess and maybe a forum. But that's up to you to decide.

Overall Rating: 8/10

Good luck with the site.

If you liked my review and comments, you can add rep for me.

Regards.

Thanks for your review. The site is being made for a client, so we're somewhat restricted in our creativity by their wishes. Also, content will be placed by the client, so when the project is finished content will follow I guess. Not quite sure what you mean by a new page, but I think a forum on a wholeseller's website is not very much needed.

Thanks again and rep added.

Cystic Fibrosis Save a Life
Site:

Up's
» The Nice Mascot. I like that Dino, It surely matches the color, and your site's name.

Down's
» The Flags that Translates the Page. I tried it and nothing changed, the word nieuw!(e) didn't changed. you should fix this to have a professional website.
» The Text/Banner seems to be a little simple.

Thats all I can point out. Your website looks good, but there are really down's on a site.

Thank You,
