![]() ![]() | Fun little Search Engine, your feedback? Hey all, my friend and I (he did the work, I just reset the Nameservers ) just completed a little site for fun and just wanted to get your feedback of what you'd like to see on it to make it something you would use. It, of course uses Google for it's search but, the idea is to create a "Man's" search engine, somthing more macho than the bright colorful "girlieman's" google: http://www.Seekzilla.com Also, the darn thing is already a PR3, how is that possible as it doesn't get much traffic? I don't understand this PR stuff at all. Here's where I found it's page rank: ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/207367-fun-little-search-engine-your-feedback.html http://www.urltrends.com/viewtrend....w.seekzilla.com Thanks, Bryant

![]() ![]() | Hate to be a spoil sport, but Google is going to wet itself with anger when it sees that webpage. Consider your account stamped with a big red X But, if you wish to do it legitemately, look for the Google API and scripts that use it. http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=PHP+Google+Search http://www.wwwsearchsolutions.com/google.php ... There are dozens available.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the search needs more colour. Also, the logo, i'm not too keen on the dragon, it isn't very "modern", and the image quality is kind of poor. Add some sort of font to the text on the homepage too...maybe Verdana, it would just make it a little better. Adrian

![]() ![]() | I didn't even realize this Google TOS problem. I will take use the suggested API scripts instead. Thank you very much for saving from this problem.

![]() ![]() ![]() | i'll go from the top down.. 1) Header/Logo is ok, but could use some styling effects(just minor, nothing too flashy) and it needs to be a little more high resolution(it looks blurry to me). 2) Style the search box and button with green and black or even gray and white. for example: http://www.stephenausman.com/examples/seekzilla.html ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=207367 3) Make the links at the bottom have a better font such as verdana or tahoma like hitch said. i changed that in the above sample. ----- other than that, i would agree with pcwebadvice and say on the results page do something to the links to make them stand out more. |
