Ive just opened NetCritique.com and would appreciate peoples thoughts and opinions.

NetCritique is aimed at Webmasters & Webdesigners, its meant as a place where they can go and review eachothers work. In knowing what other people think of eachothers sites then we will know what visitors of our site think and what to improve.

This is a new site so there arent alot of listings as of yet but please do signup and look around & let me know how I can improve it.

What did you use to make it. Looks like a CMS but I could be wrong. Also your shoutbox has a few errors where it draws the lines in the wrong spot.

theparamount - not a CMS... all coded from scratch by me. - Thanks for the tip on the shoutbox, its an issue with MSoft not making it easy on us coders to get things looking right with FireFox

I don't care for the design. To start, I have seen ones like this before and it does not look unique. Also, the white background loads last and looks funny when loading. I would also say get a favicon. The color scheme just doesn't work. You have orange, grey, light blue, and grey blue. The color scheme in the background is dark and Halloween-like, and the inside is light and Windows Desktop-like.

Hope this isn't too harsh, I am just trying to help.

Made a few changes... Ive kept the overall design but I have moved things around and taken a few things away, Ive also added a couple of things aswell now my coding knowledge is better (like the search engine etc) & im wondering what people now think of the place.

Please be honest... Im not looking to get a big head, im just wanting to know how I can improve things. Especially on how to improve my signup rate... I dont understand why I dont get more webmasters signing up and submitting their websites as its basically a free link and free traffic (admittedly not a huge amount but free traffic is always a nice thing

)

Would appreciate peoples opinions.

At the moment I only have about 100 members (very few active) and also only about 50 sites listed for review.

Ehh, it's decent. There is a 1px black line chillin up top doing nothing...it's ugly. Also there should be some space between the bottom and the bottom of your page. Otherwise it just feels like there should be more. You also need a favicon to your site (amazing how every site forgets this when most of the world is converting to firefox). Also, your login box should be a little better. IDK hard to explain just too ... photoshopy...not professional. Looks kinda like a tutorial or gaming site...not a review site. I would never use it.

Sorry bout the harsh review, just being honest.

The login box does not stand out enough. It seems to blend to the site too well. Also, the boxes and text look off, not completely spaced equally or something.

Nice colours and overall design, a little more spacing required in certain areas (Login Box).
Also I just noticed ". . ." at the top left corner of the design. Looked into the code and its due to fullstops at the end of your meta coding and CSS inclusion.

Overall a very nice site and with a bit of improvement on the spacing it will be even better and more pleasing on the eye.

Sites like these really prove to be helpful especially with those who are just starting out.

The front page does look a bit cluttered to me. You might wanna consider placing the log-in box on the left top-most portion (like what you did with the subpages) coz it kinda gets lost being on the right side.

Maybe you can provide a more attractive step-by-step or a description on how things works in your site to give visitors an idea on what they need to do. Coz if I hadnt read your site description in your first post, maybe I woudlve had a hard time figuring out where to go or what to do next. Not that it's complicated, but you could use a better strategy to get visitors to sign up immediately upod reading what your site has to offer.

nice design. I'd say 7/10 eight if it wasn't orange.

Sorry but i dont like the design too much either,
Here is my opinions on why i dont like it:

I dont think the background works well for this design though im not sure what other colour would be better .

I dont think the sections are clearly defined on the design which makes it look a bit cluttered and messy.

The Shout Out box doesnt look right at all too me, maybe it is just the orange that is to blame but im not sure.

Sorry to say all this as i like the idea of the site, Good Luck with things.
