Restaurant website! please review ;)

hi! this is my first flash job as a webdesign freelancer (the other websites I did were just for personal purpose) and I wish you all feel free to make some comments about it
Notice that the website is in portuguese, as it is for a restaurant near Lisbon in Portugal.. anyway you can travel through the website just for fun

Just one more thing.. imagine you are in the restaurant, so you can play with the napkin and the plate as you could do it (drag it) in a restaurant table

www.flagrantedelitro.com

(you need macromedia flash player 8)

sorry my english.. I'm portuguese

Well it does look nice. Has a few usuability issues... for example: on the pizzas menu the slider is hard to figure out at first, usually people click the arrow up or down to scroll and not click and drag... took a few tries to figure it out. Also when you look at a larger picture for some strange reason it get's rid of the "x" to close the window.

Overall this website shows off your flash skills nicely.

I guess it depends on what goals the restaurant has for this website... but as a user, this website is frustrating. There is no reason for a visitor to ever return, no search engine optimization, no details about the menu, no prices, no specials, no email info... basically no real reason I should be there in the first place.

But that's just my opinion.

I will not get into any functionality aspects here because I don't know anything about the aim of this design. Designwise, it looks kind of nice, very easy on the eyes. Very nice flash job.

From the user's point of view; I would say there is some room for improvement.

Oh and I thing I would go for a white plate or maybe some shade between white and grey, not really agree with the orange.

Anyway, best of luck!

thanks a lot for your comments!

there are just some things I didn't say about the goals the restaurant has for this website:
the colours have to be based on orange, black and some "old" yellow because those are the restaurant's colours, in fact the plate and the napkin have those colors too (:
About the information displayed in the website: there is no email, prices or specials :s that's not my fault but the restaurant's owners didn't want.. but notice that this is not a big restaurant or something like a franchising, it's just a very very small and simple restaurant in the suburbs of a small town called Odivelas so they don't have online take-away or even internet inside the restaurant.. I would like to do those things in the website, but I can't :s there are some webdesign limitations, you know what I'm talking about

thanks a lot for your comments and suggestions!! some improvements can be done!! keep posting!

Nice flash site. I really like the concept of playing with the napkin and the plate as you could do it (drag it) in a restaurant. Very good job considering it's your first flash job.
