RPG Veterans - need feedback

I'm setting up my first forum and would like some feedback. I've been working and experimenting with this site for a couple of months and want some feed back. I have a tendency to over do things and I want to know if it looks alright. It is an online roleplaying site running SMF forum software. Let me know what you think. I still have a couple of issues to work on like the - x posts in x topics, by x memebers - in the header area and I'm still working on the graphics a little bit. Like new icons in the info center.

Thank you
Dresdan.

It looks very nice actually my only comment is on the homepage between the welcome post and New look there is a lot of black space with a white dot? Other than that very nice theme for an RPG

I don't like all the "boxes" and lines, making the borders a bit more subtle.

The site itself is a little dark for my taste, but its alright really.

Thank you for taking the time to look it over.

Morphmaster I never even notice that little box thanks for pointing it out. I'm still trying to find it in the coding. The best I've been able to do so far is move it to the bottom of the page.

PoorDoggie I have taken your advice. I played around with different things to change the look of the frontpage and found one that looks better in my opinion. I tried getting rid of all the boxes, but then it didn't really match the theme for the forum. What I have settled on was to eliminate the text boxes for the center section blocks. I must say this does looks better. Thank you for your feedback.

Edit - OK I got rid of the box. Couldn't code it out so I just found the image and replaced it with a transparent gif. Not the proper way to do it I guess but it worked.

wow shocking color combinations fits your theme. fast loading and i can easily find the register/login links which is good, lacking in thumbnail images and graphics which I commonly see for rpg sites. visitors will appreciate if there are menu links as well repeated at the bottom for easy access. overall great site

Thank you weblord. I am still in the dark ages here with dial up so have designed the site to be fast loading. I have also done a mild overhaul to include more theme related gfx, and put in an opacity code in the css and added a background image to enhance this. I have brightened the text slightly, I don't want to go to much or it overpowers the theme and throws everything out of balance. Within the forum itself I have added a link tree to the bottom of everypage. There is also a jump to menu.
