A couple things:

1) too grey
2) semi-hard to read
3) GREAT banner
4) Get rid of the ads or move it centered or something
5) Get rid of the stat counter at the bottom

I don't like the grey overlay on the banner. If you could change that I would think it would look much better.

The header is really cool and the grey is not too much of a problem IMO. Just change the font or increase the size of the existing font to make it more readable. Also the placement of the google ads is looking untidy.

Well since the placement of the ads is in a vertical position, they cannot be placed at the bottom of the page. I think you should place them either in the right hand corner of the page or the left hand corner of the page.
