DeuceAce.com Poker site Custom vBulletin design

Hey,
I am looking for some feedback on the new custom skin on www.DeuceAce.com

The skin is still undergoing coding and small design changes so hoping to get some good feedback while it's still being worked on.

There are a few images that need the background changed to fit the new gradients but that will be done very soon

Thanks

Here's what I noticed:
  • It's a bit plain.
  • Very dark.
  • GREAT logo!
  • Looks weird right aligned.
  • Can't read grey text at bottom.

Most poker sites include gold. I think the logos are great and even the layout. Maybe have some black space between the end of the forum and the sidebar. Also don't use black as the background color. Change your blue links to green.

http://www.pokerforums.org is one of the premier poker forums around as well as http://www.casinomeister.com/.

these 2 use colors, info and loads of content to keep ppl interested.

If you go to http://www.casinomeister.com/ they will help no end.

It needs work but your on the right track as long as the topics articles etc are all easily navigated and you have huge content you can do great with this.

good luck m8

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

I want the design to be plain to be honest, I want it simplistic as it's aimed towards older users.
It is very dark, I will have to think of something to brighten it up a little.
Any ideas for this?
What is right aligned? Do you mean the forums on the homepage? They are right aligned because of the sidebar. I will be adding most info to the sidebar instead of the footer and PMs etc.
I'm working on the gray text area to have a white background
There is actually a little gold, for example in the navigation at the top (Working on improving this) and also instead of using the normal arrows for the search for example, a gold spade is used.
I will be adding some padding between the forum, there was a problem with vBulletin code that needed a fix and that's what put it to 0 padding at the sides.
I have changed the links to green now Hadn't thought of that.

Thanks for the help.

KPR, I have a lot of content in the works, some unique things that are costing quite a bit but nowhere else will have it (Until I get it and I'm sure others will follow )

I am trying to put a lot into this money and effort wise.

I am still working on the forum daily, it still isn't actually live yet and wont be for a few days at least until I fix everything and get it just like I want

It is nice and looks to be aimed at an older poker player rather than early 20's
