Could I have opinions of my site colours please

Hi all

For some reason the thread on my site poped up again after 5 months:
http://www.namepros.com/showthread.p...733#post881733

And when I get there it is locked.

I wanted to reply to the original thread on my site: http://www.greylizard.net

I was interested on the opinion of the Google ads, as I am very skint now and I use the ads to pay for the hosting, no ads: no site. so in that light: are they so bad?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/135059-could-i-have-opinions-my-site.html

ok I realise the colours on my site are a mess and I really need help there, but then it is only a personal site, and my web design effort is all over as I don't have a computer anymore.

As for the layout: I'm just stuck

Regards

Justin
still here (at the moment)

Ads are okay, as long as they're nonintrusive. In your case, well you have one at the top and one at the side, I guess they're not too bad, although they do make your site look too cluttered.

You also have too many menus, which is quite confusing. People might think the second menu are just ads. Maybe you can make the second menu a side one, and combine it with your existing side menu.

Try changing the white background to a shade lighter than the background of the header, just to make the color scheme consistent.

Thanks for that, just the sort of advice I need.

I would dump the side menus and just use popouts but they seem quite unreliable even though they are CSS menus.

Having little time to work on the site now it is quite hard to get going on putting it right.

Thanks

Justin

That would be good, I am sick of my colour problem, I asked before at this forum when mmy site was going through a white stage, and the present colours are what I came up with, but it is a mess. I'd like to sort the colours once and for all for sure.. I can't be bothered to change my empty forum to anything but subsilver though(!)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=135059

I was given these links:
http://www.easyrgb.com
http://www.pixy.cz
http://www.colormatch.dk/
http://www.kolur.com/
http://more.btexact.com/people/rigdence/colours/

and I used this one:
http://graphicdesign.about.com/library/color/blweb.htm
Color Combination 9
That was how I decided on those (awful) colours

Thanks

Justin
