yes, the grass is quite distracting, don't see how it goes with the theme.

The other part is nice though, nice colors.

The grass doesn't go with a simple primary color site.

Overall it's not bad (it's logical). Might wish to dress up the header block titles some (the square look looks amateurish). Now what I do is put the nav menu on the right, so it'll be near the scrollbar (ergonomics). Folks with larger monitors (19"+ and wide LCDs) would have a l-o-n-g travel to get to the left of the page. Putting it on the right makes them lazy, which translates in they'll be more inclined to stay and browse.

Cant's comment on the x/html as there is none.
