![]() | The graphic at the top (black) is sort of unclear, and sort of stretched. I'm sure it's easy to fix. And I think the text on the navigation list is sort of stretched out as well (too thin and long?) But overall it's a great completion! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't like it. It feels completely off. There is no header picture which just makes it not eye candy off the bat. On top of that your little solid color things in the middle are wierd and off. I don't know, I don't like it. |

![]() | Well, I'd say work more towards a liquid layout. I keep my resolution at 1280x1024, so your page (770px wide) leaves 510 px of wasted space. That's roughly 40% of my screen wasted. Look at sites like amazon. As you resize your browser, their site resizes with it. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/131578-bum-designs.html Also, you have too many image links. Don't be afraid to use text. Again look at amazon (or any major E-Commerce site...I use amazon because it was the first to pop into my head, and they make millions, so they must be doing something right). Do you see image links with rollovers? No. The only images used as links are either pictures of products, or the logos of "featured partners." Lastly, keep it as light and cheerful as you can. This means lots of white, or bright colors. You have dark colors for your navigation, left bar, and your background when someones resolution is too high. Compare this again to amazon, and you will see that they have like 90% white, and the res is nice bright blues, etc. Only go dark if you are trying to sell to a dark crowd (like goth clothing, etc). |

![]() ![]() | first off, I know it needs a header and I will add one later. I will take off the little title boxes, or change em. As far as someone saying something about amazon well theres quite a bit of difference. Amazon sells products not web design, Amazon has a user friendly design but not really an appealing one. As far as the rollovers they arent meant to be drastic. They are meant to look as if a light is shining over them, and I know its kind of unnoticable on the other nav bar and I will change that. Also to the person who said you liked the other one better, well I will still have it(although its a bit changed) but I decided to make an intro page that allows the user to pick there design. So they will have an option to choose this one, the other one, or another one I plan to make soon.

![]() | Not a bad looking site for most purposes however I believe that a site selling web design should reach out and grab attention. Just a personal taste I guess. The site is nice but I wouldn't buy webdesign from you simply because the site just doesn't grab me. Looks a bit to much like a template. |

![]() | [Web design mode] Off the bat, no DTD, which will cause any viewing in any browser to default to what it feels best (or in IE it's quirks mode, which can destroy a page). Always add the correct DTD, it's as essential as the <html></html> tag. Example: PHP Code: Will also need to use the correct html to call CSS This.... PHP Code: PHP Code: [utf-8 is preferred, since it's international and works with everything, and you need to add the CDATA type to tell the browser/XML engine what data is being presented] And you use only one. Use an import for per browser specific tags (or use hacks <-- it doesn't look pretty, but it gets the job done). If this is HTML 4.01 you can get away with caps for tags, if it's XHTML you'll have to lose them (capital letters have meaning in XHTML). ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=131578 Don't use images like that in 2005 web pages. It'll break if someone decides to increase the font size (why everyone is moving away from it). Spacer.gifs also are a waste, it's a "fudge" factor for alignment, which isn't necessary and waste resources. They also can be full of web bugs, which can give your site a negative impression. Now to visuals... Since it's a cut-up site, the images take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to load. And if this is a web design site, it kills the impression. True web designers can whip up a simple site in notepad alone -- not ImageReady. As for your question about the impression of the site: I'd leave if it's a web design site, since... 1. No Flash (web designers need to show a leg here of that speciality, even if it's just a simple Swish text spin). 2. The web page code is non-compliant. 3. It's a cut and paste site. 4. Is not ADA compliant (which web design sites need to be to show their future clients they can even handle those projects [which offer some serious money]) -- absolutely nothing there to show the design firm can handle it, from table descriptions to d-links, or at least a ADA special page. Remember: not everyone is 15 years-old. Not everyone has 20/20 eyesight. Not everyone is going to read the text at "medium" size (IE). With a cut/paste site if someone uses a different text setting it'll break the tables, divs and screw up the presentation royally. CKL
