I just finished the new layout, and I did a lot of changes.

You've done a very good job. The only thing I'd change would be the background color. I'd lighten the grey a bit.

Not bad, not bad at all.

I would change the byline font to a larger size, because it's tooooo small (got to be like 8px). When adding a drop shadow to text that small, it blurs it royally, too.

And I'd optimize the graphics, to cut down on bandwidth more (doesn't seem much, but it can half your bandwidth costs by some simple optimizing). The banner can be reduced to 11kb in itself with the right optimization program. Some graphics reduce better in PNG format, so check to see if that will half the files sizes without loss of quality.

Otherwise, it's a nice, clean layout with color and not crowded.

Whoa...Yl88, that's over optimized! It's now grainy.

Do you have the original images? I can optimize them for you -- so you can see how much can be taken out, yet still look crisp.
