![]() | Any suggestions on the color scheme. I prefer a simple basic site. I am no good at flash. (i noticed some good site in the forums) too much for me at this stage. i am also in South Africa which is still very new to broadband and most people on dialup. i have many powerful templates but prefer my own Thank you for the feedback thus far

![]() | I would definitely stay away from flash if I were you! There is too much moving on the page already. No seriously, I offer the following starting points: - think about usability - red text is a major no no, think about those people who are red/blue colourblind (or is it red/green?) - I like the way the packages are in gaphics, but the text is really small and quite hard to read - some kind of separator for the header would be good. Maybe the logo would stand out more on a white background, then have the page colour blue? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/118948-hosting-site-review-please.html - the rollovers need to pre-load - the link colour cannot be the same colour as the background, even though they are different shades, they dont stand out at all. - an finally, please remove the animations! They dont add anything for the user other than an annoyance and a longer download time. I think you have the right idea on the page layout though. A good start...

Ok i will go thru all of these ? what do you mean by (the rollovers need to preload) ? the point before that. If i would seperate the top section from the blue intergrate the menu with the logo say light silver gray and then the logo should standout more. Is that what you mean Thank you Johan | ||||

![]() | Preload means adding a javascript to the file to ensure that when the page first downloads, the rollover state for the buttons is downloaded too. When I rollover the buttons, I start downloading the image then, this defeats the purpose of a rollover cause it doesnt actually change when I hover over it. Dunno if I explained that properly. Google 'preload rollover JS' and that should get you what you need. Dreamweaver puts it in automatically when a rollover is added. As for he header, yes a different colour background will make it stand out more I think. |
