![]() | Web design website I'm working on a new website for my web design company that I just started, and I was wondering what you all think of my website so far. mind you, it's not done (you'll note that the links on the left don't do anything yet...) I'm probably going to rework the whole page in php, and maybe add some other features. http://martini.fortworks.com thanks, Alex |

![]() ![]() ![]() | to be honest it looks like spot on a dogs arse. its so small! theres so much wasted space around imho could at least make 800px wide also i read this "and rigorously tested to comply with all standards," http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...rtworks.com%2F |

![]() | yeah most of the population uses an 800x600 screen, so an 800px wide site makes people scroll sideways. not cool. it not rigoursly tested YET. the page is no where near done. I've still got to add links, then make it compatible with all browsers and such. besides, that's just advertising crap I put in becuase I needed something to put there.I havn't really decided what I'm going to say yet. right now I have my screen at 1600x1200, and it does look small, but seeing how most people use 800x600 or 1024x768, it wouldn't be wise to make it very big, would it? I could maybe make it a little bigger, but that's treading on dangerous ground, because you already have to scroll down on an 800x600 screen as it is. if you're going to say, "it's not that great of a design" for gods sake tell me why. what needs improving, and stuff like that. just saying that isn't helpful at all. Thanks ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/118198-web-design-website.html Alex |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | OK, indeed, it's simple, I'll give you that, but, in my opinion, too simple. I can see your point about simple being professional, and it's true! However, professional does not have to mean a box with some lines in ![]() Remember, as a design company, you are trying to sell yourself to your prospective clients, trying to show them that you can give them a design they'd really want and, I'm sorry to say, but, right now, you're not doing that. I'm not saying you need to go for the big flashy design, just elaborate it a little bit more, make a bit more eyecandy. Yes, clients want professionalism (simple), but, they do want a bit of eyecandy to grab the attention too It's a fine blend, getting that balance of professionalism, but without going over the top.????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=118198 I love the navigation, it just - works! But, get some graphics in there! It's just white space with text at the minute, get some nice stock photos of cool desks and technological watch-a-majiggys - it looks good on a design site to have some technological stuff - shows you are advanced and up to date. Elaborate on your services a bit - "We offer Photoshop graphics / logo design" Oh do you? Cool, but, um, what type of design? Any special process? Any idea of prices? How do I order? Think of your clients as stupid - just hear me out - they want to know what they can get, when they can get it and where they can get it - and they want to know it straight away! Finally, having "blah. more stuff" and "whee! stuff" on your business website is not really a good idea! I don't know if you have started to advertise yet, but I would advise you to make sure your site is fully completed and ready before you do! Quite a long critique, but, I feel, a worthy one. you have a good start , it just needs building upon and extending a bit and it could be great! |

![]() | ok alright, I did some major reworking of the site. I made a new logo, and completly re did the interior text and stuff. please tell me what you think. I found a really cool stock photo website that has lots of great pictures. (http://www.sxc.hu/) the text is not done, so just ignore it. unless you want to be entertained, because I was pretty bored when I wrote the inside. Thanks Alex |

![]() | Don't listen to the idiots telling you to make it 800px wide; they don't know what they are talking about. Your design is spectacular and gets the point across in minimalistic fashion. I have one suggestion : You should avoid tables, learn CSS and make it entirely of divs. Divs>tables in all circumstances. 10/10 Also, what font did you use for this image: http://martini.fortworks.com/images/aboutus.gif Is it Arial?

![]() ![]() | its a very good design but whats with the random ipod image? and is your nav supposed to be like that cause it seems backwards which I think is an awesome idea. but the paragragh " Whoo...stuff about what we do and what we can do for "you" the costomer. (dummy...) yeah! more text here! keep typing my good man! with any luck, you'll make $$!" is not something I would want to read as a customer so umm is that supposed to be thre? the design is very ncie tho |
