| NamePros Member | concept designs Hey, this is my first post and just wanted to introduce myself. I have the website http://www.pie-man.co.uk It's currently going through a re-design and I realised, well, it's a bit boring. So that's now on hold and i'm doing yet another re-design. I've made a couple of concepts and would like some initial feedback on them please. splash page: http://pie-man.co.uk/spark/index.html Now I don't really like the use of splash pages unless they serve a purpose. This one doesn't and so might not make it into the final site. I may incorporate this design into the main site as the banner or something. main page: http://pie-man.co.uk/spark/main.html This is the main page but I'm not sure on it. The navigation will be the six tiles at the top and will have a hover over feature but I have some problems with it already:
So my question is this: Is the design ok or would it be better to go with a more conventional navigation system? and any other improvements/suggestions welcome. Sorry for the wall of text. |

| NamePros Member | The page looks really good, I love the colors! Now for the issues you mentioned. The text is to small, it looks a bit distorted (the font could be the problem). It could be a bit wider to help with the navigation just don't distort the that nice clean feeling it has. You could put the navigation above the content but I really see no problem with it being at the top unless your pages are really long then it might become a bit cumbersum. all in all

| NamePros Regular | i think its great, the colours work really well the text would probably look better if it was just a little bit bigger, and the site is a little on the thin side and isn't central on 1024x768 but overall, i still think its a great looking layout ![]() PS: how did you add that "lorem ipsum dolor..." stuff, i been trying to do it for ages to fill content spaces on layouts i make, so i don't have to make up stuff myself lol |

Is the text on your site latin? Also it say all content is copyright. Is it actaully copyrighted? Becareful about claiming copyright if its not.

Amnezia the texts just filler text to create an even feel as to not distract you from the actual layout. The site can probably explain it better. Quote:
