Cool PolurNET Communications - Unique New Design

Hi Everyone,

I received a couple of PMs liking the new site design of PolurNET.com. Well, I meant to ask for a FULL review after our new order system was in place, but then decided I could ask for another review once it's ready.

So, please review the general aspects of the site, apart from the order system links and the system itself (it will be officially launched later this week). Once it's ready, I'll update this thread.

Our custom-made client billing system is also being revamped, although it is fully functional and being continually updated at http://members.polurnet.com/billing (use test/demo as login for a live preview-only main page is shown and not checkout process). The initial billing system you see was made by us 100%, but now we have hired a third-party programming company that will finish the rest of the features.

Design Information

- Completely custom-coded from scratch. All design/graphics 100% unique

- Uses XHTML/PHP/MYSQL

- CSS2 standards, uses more CSS formatting than tables

- 100% Autostretch: the only site we've seen so far that offers NO LIMITATION on the user's computer resolution. It can be resized, but still fit fully in any browser. Moreover, this does not restrict the pages to 800x600 designs, as most websites are.

- A total development time of 2 months

- International site versions and multi-currency features to be added soon.

All constructive comments appreciated.

Thanks!

Looking good... a few aspects you may want to change:

1. The nav menu is a bit "ameteurish" in the way it does the effects to open the menus
2. when the menus are open, the green borders don't fit in with your site
3. The polar bear in your logo is too square, maybe make it bigger, and crop it rouind the circular "swooshes"

Apart from those, it is amazing!

Thanks for the first comments!

I agree the nav menus can use some work, so it will be redone with a different script soon

The polar bear change sounds good as well, I might hold a contest for people to try and help

PS: Added a poll, so be sure to vote!

Hey,

Looks good, I really like it. The only thing that bothers me is that it takes some time to load.

All the bestm

i assume that you have a psd with the polarbear in a seperate layer?! well then you can just smudge the bottom of the polarbear down to meet the line of the swoosh!

Takes very long to load the website on 56K and that can be really inconvenient for potential customers visiting your website on a 56K internet connection. It is really jam packed and i find it very hard to navigate There are alot of things on your first page that would probably be better off on a separate page so they don't all jam the first page with so much content.

Thanks for everyone's opinions.

We are looking for more specific remarks, such as on each page or something wrong globally. That's the only way we can improve. Be sure to cast your vote in the poll if you have not already.

Veolus: Thanks, we didn't realize many still have 56k. We'll see if a low-res site option would help in the future.

Yes, try researching on it. I believe there are more people using 56K than broadband/cable but i'm not entirely sure.
