![]() | My first web design Hi, I'm planning on making a web design website soon and I made my first design for the website itself. I spent a long time on it and didn't use any tutorials(that's why it took a long time.) Please critique me and give suggestions on what I should improve on. Thanks. ![]() http://e.1asphost.com/Vladk1000/Dark...k%20Green.html |

![]() | not sure what im reviewing here the layouts fine the color is too dark for my taste and light text on a dark background makes peoples eyes hurt also you have large green backround img whenyou could just add bgd color |

![]() | Is it better now? http://e.1asphost.com/Vladk1000/Dark...k%20Green.html BTW GJ, I will probably make a background where the text is later when I get content on the site. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I would try a baby blue gradient for the gradient bars and a white text area thats just my opinion

baby blue is around #00CCCC just to let you know also as it is the left content box is a bit lighter than the others for a version one of a site i would use that layout with maybe #00CCCC or #99CC33 as the content box colour (try them and see what they look like) remember all sites have a vesion one so use it now and if in say 3 months you have want to change it just make version 2!

the blue on the bottom doesnt go well with the green , imo also you should optimize your images to make them load faster externalize your stylesheet lose the popup

Also, what do you mean by optimizing my images? BTW I'm using 1asphost to upload my design for everyone to see, I'm going to upload my design to a different host later, and what popup are you talking about? There aren't any popups. Unless you have IE.

![]() | you can reduce the file size of your images substantially without much loss of quality and that way your page will load even faster i use firefox and it told me it blocked a pop up...thats a pop up in my book and even though i didnt have to see it i knew it was there |

![]() | I changed some things: http://e.1asphost.com/Vladk1000/Dark...k%20Green.html Deadhippo, I'm going to move the design to another host so the popup is just there because it's a free hosting service. cablejobs, what screen resolution do you have? It's not too wide for 1024x768 in Firefox and Internet Explorer. |

![]() | Nice Site Its a nice site for your first attempt, but i dont think the green really suits the "web design" theme as such. Maybe try using some more pastel type colours, even a pastel green would be better i guess... but im just a blue man myself ;p Good job keep it up
