font problem...


hey everybody, im sort of a beginner in web design.. my problem is that when i download a new font and use it for the webpage im building..the font doesnt show with people that dont have this font installed on their computer... is there a solution for that?? can i make the font show on everybodys computer? .. if so how?

Nope.

If you only want a couple of words to have that particular font then you might be able to get a way with images, but it's highly recommended you stick with ordinary fonts anyway.

there was already a post just like this a few days ago, none the less, lets explaing again.

When you select the font that your text is to be displayed in on your webpage, ie.. font-family:Verdana, arial, helvetica, you are using universal fonts that are installed on most webbrowsers, however, when you change the font to something like blacletter686 bt regular, thats not install in all browswers, it wont display. the browser will automatically default to arial, georgia etc and your pretty font will have been used for naught.


now, if you wat to use a font that is not a standard then you need to make images with that font, yes its a pain in teh hoohoo but thats the way to do it. the image will display on just about anything but linx.

damn .. i wanted to write with a new font on the whole page .. but anyway .. thanks guys!
