need help with multimedia

Hi there. I'm a musician trying to get a webpage working properly. The reason I'm here is because I'd like to combine a track with a bit of animation I've done. The animation is a short looping CG header. At the moment, it's a GIF. The track plays with Quicktime.

I've been having problems with consistent and proper loading. I'm wondering if it would be a better idea to combine the audio and video into a single format(AVI,Quicktime,WMA) or to combine them in Flash. I've done some work with Flash MX, but I would need help with the scripting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Taro

use flash, the animation file alone is half a mb.

*embedded in a site, that is massive* i'm on pretty quick cable and it takes awhile to download.

Flash would be way smaller, and you can add a loader to it, then the image and music will both start together when they finish loading.

Thanks Dave. Just a few questions for you:

Is there anything I need to do to make sure the file size is reduced when creating the flash file?

Also, I would like to get the animation loaded before the music. Should I put them in seperate flash files, or is there a better way?

Thanks again,
Taro
