I know many of you don't like the domain hacks, but i think that more and more websites are developed under those domains.

My self i type more often youtu.be then youtube.com

Please, tell me what do you think.

"Newspapers" are DOA; perhaps an domain hack with some compelling purpose or unique need instead?

I don't think they are DOA, I know they are DOA ... generally news on the internet and other forms of social media have taken away their eyeballs / readership (and thus advertising

has dried up exponentially), IMHO.

Some niche publications will survive ... with a complementing website, and whereas they have learned to monetize the website / offer a "value-added" rate along with the combined print!

I think that the printed newspapers will become online newspapers.

Apple is working on a new subscription plan for newspapers on the iPad.

Also over 300k exact global searches i think for the moment they are doing well

Yes, or at least complements to the print side (depending on the publication or location or niche, etc.).

I don't necessarily think subscriptions are the answer ... there's also the fact that publishers have no idea as yet how to effectively

monetize their online content.
