![]() ![]() ![]() | Should I do this? Ok if this is wrong category, move it but I think its right. Ok my school has a website and well it was white with one image of the school building and looked like a kid designed it,It had no css(wtf?). Ok so I brought it up and volunteered to do it but the teacher who does it said to the vice principal that she is taking css lessons.I said to the vice principal
So I said this to one of teachers and they said I should say it to my principal so I was wondering as well as giving points should I make a website design on my computer and show it to my principal after school and say right look this is whats wrong, heres what I have done there is only a few things I need to get from the school which are free for the school(school crest and timetable for all classes, its not there, what a joke). ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-discussion/686298-should-i-do-this.html I personally would really like the school to show its image better online because the website makes it look like a crap school where you don't learn 2+2 but in reality its completely different and majority of teachers are brilliant. So should I do this and organize to show present it to the principal? ob it wont be online until they put it up if they do.

A little bit of modesty will serve you well. Short answer: Volunteer to HELP the teacher if you want to do something. If they don't want your help ? Get over it and move onto something else.

![]() | Well hmm Think about if you are creating or competing at this point. If you are doing it to be genuine and cause a positive catalyst that will inspire your school than great. If it is about being a know it all and getting your way, well so far it has not worked. People really want to know it will be better through initiative and not coercion.

![]() ![]() | That's not what in_thename is saying. The way you are coming off is as a know it all. If you are genuinely doing this to aide the school then, you need to approach it a different way. You are only 15, and have a lot to learn about how to speak with people. |

I think you should definitely throw together a design and approach the principal afterwards and say "I thought the schools website could be improved, so I put together my own design. I'd love to show it to you, and if you decide you want to use it I'm more than happy to give to to you. I think you'll see that its an improvement, but if theres anything that you think needs to be changed, I'm happy to work with Mr/Ms X (the teacher who did the current design) and fix it up." But given what you've already said to them, you'll want to make sure its an awesome website that you create - otherwise you'll look like a tool.

![]() | I think it could be a good idea but how you go about it is very important. I actually agree with early posters about cutting down on the arrogance - that will just make people upset and get you nowhere. Simply show what you can do with a quick mockup of what the website would look like and tell the principal why you are motivated. This could work well. |
