How many pages.....

Quick Question

How many pages should a website have to consider it as a "website" and not a minisite?

Also what other obvious differences should I look for when comparing websites from minisites?

Personal opinions and experiences are welcome.

there is no such limitations that if these many pages are there then it is considered as website and less than that it's a mini site. Google or other SE's will not look at that.

Cancer Survivorship
I don't think anyone's come up with a formal definition .

All minisites are web sites. The smaller it is, the more likely the "mini" prefix would be appropriate. 5 pages or so?

if you look with more attention almost every business website can be called mini-sites...
1st page - main index
2nd page - about us
3rd page - location and contacts
4th page - products

That is a good point. I never really analyzed business website that way but I agree that a lot of everyday business website do have the website format that you've described above.

Protect Our Planet
minisites are generally not "regular site" but mostly what people call "adsense sites" or "sales products" pages. This is the definition for minisites in our business.

*adsense sites: keywords research, ads, plr articles... as contents.
*sales products pages: 1 page long with description of products (ebook, subscription, dvd, book,....) + other pages like terms, contact.

We do 5+ pages site for our customers and would never associates with mini-sites. Check with your local Web Design pro. organisation for more infos.

Hi Smiler,

There is no fixed criteria about the pages that how many pages should a website has. There are many website which has only 2 pages and some have about 1000 pages. the main thing is that the pages you can can describe your website or its services and products.
