Important! Question - modifying my header, have a .png, how difficult to integrate to site?

Hi all,

I'm using the HackerWP theme on a site, it's a knock-off of Lifehacker, Engadget, Gawker, etc.

I want to change the stock header and logo, I have a .png of how I'd like the header bar with a new logo to look - new search box, social icons, etc. Fits the overall theme of the site still, just styled how I want it.

How difficult (read: expensive) is it for me to have a developer actually code this .png image of the new header bar in place of the stock HackerWP header bar? It does nothing different, just different colors, a little different in height, new logo and search bar and social icons.

Thanks, really appreciate the help!

It should take someone about 1-2 hours to do...or less...and cost about $100 or less. But I am exaggerating a little because developers charge differently and I'm not entirely sure the extent of your work. What you are asking for does not sound like much.

Thanks. I figured it could be done for around 100 so nice to hear that. I figured I'd shop around but I didn't think it was THAT big a job.

The header and the search bar, social icons, etc. are all separate images. Still, assuming that the image(s) that you have created are correct and don't need to be edited or recreated, a hundred bucks (2 hrs) is pretty much right on the money.

Another option is to spend about 4-8 hours learning how to do this yourself. It will save you money in the long run.

Good luck!

Thanks, you're right about doing it myself...

I have this fear of breaking things. ;-) But you're right.
