Question Online Availability Calendar

I have been asked by one of my clients to create an online availability calendar that people can use to check if a property is available to book on certain days of the month.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-discussion/67816-online-availability-calendar.html

Ideally I would like the calendar to be viewed as a whole year on one page and unavailable dates to be highlighted in red.

The client I am working for would like to be able to keep the calendar up-to-date by himself so he doesn't have to pay me every time someone makes a booking (which is fine by me!!). The only problem is that he has NO web design expierience so would not be comfortable using Dreamweaver to update it.

So firstly does anyone know of a simple way to create the calendar, and also can you give me any suggestions on how I can make it easy for him to keep the calendar up-to-date?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if it would sufficient for your needs, but I have friends in the real estate business that use a Yahoo calendar for such purposes. They have a Yahoo email account they use for Craigslists posts and then they mark the appointments on the Yahoo calendar.

Good features of the Yahoo calendar is that you can mark stuff as private or public, share with friends or a "find free time" feature. Plus if you add your mobile phone information, Yahoo can send reminders to it. Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but you'd be surprised by the amount of people I know who are surpised when I show them the Yahoo calendar feature.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I did show my client the Yahoo calendar as an option but he want's something that blends in with the existing design of the website so it looks more professional.

Ideally I would like to create the calendar myself within Dreamweaver.

I have not looked for this particular script, but check http://www.hotscripts.com and see if they have something of this nature. I've had pretty good luck there.

Try these...

Sorry to be so picky but all the scripts on that site ask for a payment to use them or they rely on an outside source to host the calendar which isn't really what I want.

I'm after a way of producing the calendar within Dreamweaver myself and allowing my client to update it as and when they wish. This update procedure will need to be as easy as possible because of their lack of knowledge when it comes to web design.

Thanks (sorry again)

Hi rose,

A calendar script is pretty complicated. I don't know of any free ones off the top of my head. If you'd like a customized configurable script that you can host, you'll need to program one, buy one or pay a programmer to program one for you.
