Tables or Divs

Do you rather prefer Tables or Divs? I prefer tables because they can be simplier to layout a navigation system with a good content area. And tables are compatible by MSIE, Firefox, and Netscape (I think). So your site will be cross-browser compatiable .

I prefer tables for their ease of use and because more browsers support it.

Yeah, I just learned how to use rowspan in tables. I never knew what it was for, because I never really tested it .

I will never use an HTML Editor. I only do any kind of programming by hand, whether its HTML to PHP.

Yeah, tables take a bit more code, but actually a div, you need to position and all that, a table you don't. So it's simplier!

Mine and rather general recommendation is tables for tabular data, layers for general layout containers, lists for non-tabular lists of data. I cannot say I follow it at all times, but I do my best to think what is suitable.
