Mental content block!

Hmpf! Hey.

I'm currently in the process of developing one of the domains in my signature which is finance related. Now, I'm having a content block, I don't know what more to add. There's millions of things I can add out there I'm sure, but I don't know what.

I want to add content thats not only useful for the end-user but also encourages them to come back and taste more of it.

Currently I have a blogger who's going to be working for me who's a day trader, very good at what he does and he's going to be blogging when the site is up and running.

I am also going to have Loan/Mortgage/Credit Card information sections which will include articles and news.

I'll eventually add a forum but this isn't a huge priority till I have UVs.

I'm sure you've all been here, sat there pondering what to add, how did you overcome it?

Thanks.

I'd say you'll be well on your way already with what you got planned. I also suggest you get some interaction going there somehow. Maybe also have comparisons of actual bank fees, interest on savings or other investments, etc. Right now people in Canada (all of North America really) are looking for ways to save money, or leverage their existing funds. Maybe add some pools, calculators, etc.
I think you have a really valuable domain that once it's developed it could sell one day for a nice tidy sum!

good luck!

Thanks for the comments Karen.

Funnily, last night I couldn't sleep because ideas were just flooding too me, I'll share a few just to see what your thoughts are.

First of all, the homepage:

Dedicating this to a blog isn't very good for the site, it just puts information of one sector of the website infront of the user and no others. I'm going to make the frontpage have information about all of our services, and then allow clickthroughts from there. I'm also going to mix up the colour scheme, keeping the same overall layout but using Red/blue/Yellow/Green headers in the main content to go with the picture at the top right.

Secondly, I'll allow my blogger to do his talk about the markets, but not all of my userbase will be market literate, or at all interested. I've decided I'm going to run a blog secondary to this based on pure money topics, be it RRSP investments or should you let your teenager use a credit card.

Thirdly (going on from what you were saying) Credit Card/Mortgage/Loan comparison/information will be in place in the form of unique content I'm adding and datafeeds from a reputable affiliate group.

Fourth I'm going to add a "Deal of the day" which will be updated as much as possible with canadian deals, this will be good for consumers I believe and may drive traffic.

Fifth General news vetted and collected from canadian news outlets.

Sixth and final, the forum. I have big plans for the forum but they will come much much down the line when the community is growing, suffice to say I'd like to use this and incentive my users to use the site more and give them rewards for doing it.

Anyway, IF I can do all of this and get the traffic coming, it should work as a good content-driven domain.

Don't mean to change the topic, just wanted to point that out.
