Alternative to "glow" for Firefox and non-IE browsers?

I'm hoping someone can suggest an alternative method for highlighting text, as a Firefox alternative to the IE compatable "glow":

(sample image)

What are some other ways to display a username with a color highlight added to it? Obviously it can't be the same glowing effect, but perhaps another neat effect or bordering that is compatible in Firefox would be a suitable replacement.

Any ideas?

Hehe...that's because it's an image. I put it there as a sample of what the effect looks like. What you can't see is my username glowing in Yellow. I'm looking for something to enable Firefox users to see something different about my username.

I'm a Firefox user myself now and would like to see when someone's name is glowing.
