![]() | You can never create search engines like Google in my opinion. It is not a one man job, as it requires many resources and many skills. I think if you really want to create search engine, then make it niche based search engine, and I think then it will be cool.

The more you know about search engines, the more you know how complex they can be. The difference between Google and, e.g. the one used on Wikipedia, is huge. Google uses more than 200 variables, including the PageRank-algorithm, to determine how "important" a web site is. This is only to display the websites in the order you see when you do a search on Google. In addition, the Googlebot constantly crawls websites and extracts keywords from each site to store in their database and lookup when you search for that specific keyword. The latter part is easy, but as you can see, this is just a tiny portion of what Google really does. You can create simple search queries to your database using SQL, but a search engine is so much more.

![]() | I don't think that it is to hard to create that.So many tools are available now a days for developing a search engine. If one don't want to go with those ready-made one then he can create his own.Which is also quite easy. One should create easily with just three steps: Installing Your Own Search Engine Script Using a Free or Commercial Third Party Hosted Search Engine Service Using the Major Search Engines

![]() ![]() | To create a search engine and underlying algorithms such as the one that Google uses (Google has access to an astronomical amount of information from all of its traffic monitoring tools) is far beyond the means of any organization at this time. It is called an impenetrable technology moat. Rich |
