Broken images question

What could be the reason for this problem: Everything looks OK when I visite the web site at

http://www.evlad.com/

...but if I remove the slash at the end and reload the page, i.e.

http://www.evlad.com

all images are suddenly broken x's.

Any ideas? How can I fix that?

They both look fine to me. Try hitting shift + refresh on the one with the broken images.

Ok here, how many different browsers have you tried it in? From memory if you type in a URL without a closing slash you get a redirect response from the server i.e. server tells client that you want a slash at the end even though you havent entered it.

I see the problem in IE, but some people emailed me to tell me about it. Obviously Google's bot has the same problem too -- if you go to http://www.google.ca/search?q=cache:...m/+evlad&hl=en you will see that the cached page has no images too...Weird...
