Please help a newbie

Hi all,
I am totally newbie in webdesign but I think I'll eat this forum in the summer vacation as for now I'd like to make a webpage so I'll need your help with it.
I have seen a webpage and I'd like to make one like it.The problem is that I can't remember it's URL so I am gonna describe it as much as I can.This page has 3 windows or pages in it What I mean by that is when you open the page you see 3 pages opened vertically side-by-side.This helps in promoting three sites with one page.
I'd like my page to have some writings on the top then 7 pages opened horizontally under each other.For these 7 pages i'll put 7 URL's to open in them.Some graphics would make things better

If anyone got what I'm talking about plz help or just give me the code. If you didn't get what I'm talking about just post and I'll try to describe it more..

I think you are referring to a framed website example. Basically it uses frames for different sections - right?

I dont have an example laying around but it is generally explained relatively easy terms online. Just give google a search.

I would suggest not using frames there is no marketing benefits in it.

stay clear of frames if that is waht your talking about, if you want to link to other sites, its easier and better just to have a small screen shot or logo of the web site that is linked to the site you want it to.

I strongly suggest you go to www.htmlhelp.com and read the FAQ on HTML there, its a very handy reference!

Otherwise, draw in microsoft paint what it is you mean and we will have another look!

I have frames on my web page

I use frames on one page of my web site to allow me to display 2 pages at the same time. If you have Front page it is very easy to create frame pages. I would recommend front page if frames are what you want with out allot of work.

Also what they say about marketing your web site and frames is true although some of the larger search eng are getting on board with frames. What I did to get around this is I created a welcome.html page with all my meta tags links descriptions and all of the other wonderful things that make you rate well in a search and I also provided links to each page of my frames so as not to loose content when the spiders visit my site.

Now you can just guess that this page dose not look like what I want my site to with frames so I added this little snippet of java.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
if (top == self) self.location.href = "index.html";
// -->
</SCRIPT>

And placed my url for the frames page inplace of the index.htm

This allows the search eng to go through my welcome page to get the content of my site and link through my other pages while web browsers are automaticly directed straight to my frames page and never see the welcome page.

I hope this advice helps.
