![]() | Learning HTML+CSS I want to learn HTML+CSS. I was just wondering if i spend at least 3 hours a day studying it how quickly will i be able to write it fluently? Also, when people design websites do they learn ALL of the code or do they have a blank template of the code then add all the vital information? ![]() ![]() ![]() | html is actually a dying breed . Many web developers will refer to it as xhtml (kinda the same actually - html > and xhtml />, stuff like that). Even if you spent 1 hour a day, you would have this down in no time. To your 2nd question, its kind of a mixed bag. Some have a blank template and some work as they go, it's really based on convenience and/or preference. When you sit down and learn you'll find out that coding is actually really simple to learn. You just need time and patience.

![]() | Start by learning HTML, it is not complicated at all. Start by writing an simple html page (and i advise you to write it using notepad) In this way you will get enough information, and that information you will remember it. Stay away, at least at the beginning from fancy editors. Good luck |

![]() ![]() | Oppinion is to learn html and css before learning xhtml. Makes it simpler + I still work with tables and I am in the development field. Many times companies can't afford anything over xxxx so we are limited on time. In this case, if it is custom, I will use tables because it is more efficient than tableless. |

![]() | It didn't take me long...its just a lot of information to retain. After you learn the basics of html, you'll wanna get a template and work with that in a WYSIWYG to see when you change stuff, how the code changes...a good tool. And then work on CSS, and work on edditing some templates and stuff. Then you should be good to go. For a while though you will always have to google questions |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's pure memorization, so it will take a little time. Afterall, there is a difference between knowing what to do and Googling what to do. ![]() For others that might be interested, there are a lot of good books out there. I know I have an issue with screen fatigue when I stare at a computer all day long and into the evening, so a book provides a good way to read with a little less demand on the old eyes. This was also how I initially learned on my own, just bought a book on the subject and started reading. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Another option is Video Tutorials. There are tons of them on YouTube and in many cases video makes it easier to follow and understand CSS + HTML. I'm beginning to start learning as as well and I do find that video works better for me on a whole, while writting important things down on paper.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I learned by using frontpage a few years ago. Really simple to put together pages, and you can check the code as you go to learn the basics. It's probably not the best way to learn as frontpage is a bit bloated with it's code, but that's how I grasped the basics of html |
