Helpdesk Software

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a basic low priced helpdesk software I can add to my site for support. Any recommendations?

If your host uses cPanel and has Fantastico De Luxe installed, you should be able to install a tonne of different support tools.

Here are the tools Fantastico lists...

Crafty Syntax Live Help

Well what's your definition of low priced, first? Secondly, do you mind sharing what type of work this helpdesk will be used for (IE: some are geared towards hosting)?

SupportTrio would be my suggestion in that case.
http://activecampaign.com/supporttrio/

Other suggestions would be Kayako (getting more expensive there, but still not bad) and then I've heard a lot about a free one, http://www.accord5.com/trellis, but never used it myself.

In our company we use scriptlogic's helpdesk tool called bridgetrak.

http://www.scriptlogic.com/products/bridgetrak

The tool incudes customizable interface, issue templates with custom and required fields, automatic converting e-mails into issues, knowledgebase, autoescalating of issues, assets information storing, reporting, easy active directory integration.
Even more, it was easy to implement and intuitive to use.
As for the price, it is not too expensive compared to many solutions that we had a chance to try.

Hope this helps!
