help with design of album index page

Hi I'm designing a site and I'm having trouble with making an album index page. I've tried a number of different things, but I can't get anything I like.

This is for a soccer photo album, so I need to have the game number and whether the thumbnails or slideshow should be shown. I'm trying to get a clean simple design, but it's TOO plain right now. Any suggestions on how to spice it up or change the layout? I think my main problem is the text. I've also tried lining it up as follows:

GAME ONE
thumbnails | slideshow

GAME TWO
thumbnails | slideshow

album page
