Question Is it legal to compare your website to another?

I mean this, we are going to offer a similar services as to 1shoppingcart and quickpaypro But for much less.

I see it all the time. We where actually going to link back to them so that the clients can see the difference. (heck if we had to use there affiliate link incase we lose them

I will have our legal team of Yellow pages, 411, and my brother in law on retainer just in case

lol, good luck, i would ask permission, but since its public info, i dont see why not.

Comparing should be legal, but using their trademark, copyright,or logo would likely not be.

Listing their site in a visible side by side comparison is generally accepted, but hiding their name in hidden text or meta files would not be.

I would think using an affiliate link on a competetive site would eiher be against the policy of the advertiser or affiliate network. read your TOS. Even if not, It would probably be considered "bad faith" and probably not a good idea.

This is not "legal advice", but recommendations based on past readings.
