graphic programs


What sort of graphics programs do ya'll use for your web designs? I have psp7, and its just not cutting it,lol. I want to be able to make professional grade websites.

By the way, if there is a forum for this, I'm sorry, I couldn't find one.

Well, Photoshop CS (8.0) is the latest version, but there aren't many advantages (I believe) over 7.0, so its not imperitive to upgrade if you have it already, but you may as well buy CS if you are buying new, since 7.0 isn't a lot cheaper - and many places don't stock it anymore.

I use 7.0 and indeed the differences don't seem to warrant a need to upgrade. So it wouldn't be too bad to skip one version and wait for the next, at least from the standpoint of "needing" to upgrade.

Photoshop is probably the best program to make layouts for the web.

Having said that, it depends greately on your skills, creativity and experience.

Photoshop is a tool to make website layouts, not a magic stick that automatically makes them professional.

A good designer could probably use MSPaint and make a design more professional than a beginner with photoshop.
