combining two images in tables

I'm trying to combine two images for my news script: http://gx-temp-domain.50megs.com/test.html
I'd like to have them set as background images in table cells so that my script can write the name of the poster in the top cell and the poster's content in the second. Problem is there's some annoying whitespace between two images, how can I fix this?

Try setting the cellpadding and cellspacing of the table to 0.

Also, make sure their are no spaces between the TDs of the table.
