Referer spam (rant)

I'm really getting pissed off at this stupid referer spam.

I open my logs and all I see is:

(Entries 9 and 10 are legit, the rest are referer spam)

I have some developed sites and some waiting to be devved. I'm not even making any money from them. I'm not even trying to make money from them.

Still the referer spam continues.

I even uploaded the audio of Christine's segment on Nightline. All I want is to be able to see that people are downloading it and listening to it.
Can I? No way, the logs are all full of requests for non-existent pages like this:

All I want is to be able to do something to help Christine. Being over here in the UK I feel powerless and unable to help so this is one way I know I can. I just want to see that people are downloading it and listening, and to feel that I am helping in some way.

This is such a waste of time. I am the only person who sees my logs. They're not published anywhere. Still they spam every domain I have on that server, wasting my bandwidth and my time.

It just annoys me so much that these losers keep doing this. I might as well just shut down my server. This is a total waste of my time and effort.

There's no way to stop it. Even ways like this wouldn't stop the majority of my referer spam.

I'm so pissed off!

Sorry for the rant but I dev for fun, because I like it, but there's always these complete idiots who have to screw everything up and make the internet suck.

I've had pretty good luck with a method similar to the one posted above. It takes a bit of looking after, but the spam has stopped and I'm seeing a lot of 403 errors (forbidden) in my referral logs.
