help needed

i recently started my own website, which was based on piczo, but no i want to get my own domain name and all that but dont no really were to start as i only have a small amount of cash avaliable. please help. the site at the moment is www.best-bet.piczo.com

A good bet is 1and1.com - $2.99 a month and a free domain for 5GB Space 250GB Bandwidth.
I've used them in the past and not had problems with them, so I'd advise them.

Is there anything in particular your not sure about when it comes to hosting?

There are plenty of free domain offers around the forum.
You can buy a domain name here for ~150np$ (.info) ~450 (.com)
Or, you can spend 7/9$ on a .com depending on what registrar.

Trust me...it's worth it.
Piczo is a BIG turn off for surfers and no-one would type in piczo.whatever.com
You can get hosting for a few np$ a month or even get free hosting, check the forums

You get Np$ by posting, however brand new members do not get it, i think you have to be here 30 days.

Well I must say I don't know where that comes from, I have been with them now for 4 years and in that time I have not received one single problem, not one.

Having said that I am with 1&1's UK Department, not their US department.
Service at their UK department is excellent, to my suprise they usually respond to my emails almost immediately.

I should have been more specific in which department of 1&1 I was with.

Well i have ad alot of problems with 1&1 yes they are cheap but when it comes into the billing part all i had was trouble.

Jonny, I can only assume you're the exception to the rule, either that or they've really bucked their ideas up over the last year or two.... somehow I doubt it.

1and1 - quite possibly the worst registrar in the business. Not to mention the hosting. Customer service? Pfffft!

BTW: B33R, I caught that Daily Show too...I think that was sponsored by George Carlin (A mentor to Stewart). He had a bit about words you'd never hear strung together...pretty damn funny....

I think that Daryl Hannah line is a nearly perfect example of words you'd never think you'd hear put together...lol

namecheap.com is alright. I havnt had a problem with them yet. Prices arnt the best but they are good + they have the easiest management system I believe.

I would argue it depends on what you know. In some cases it is very easy to buy from a cheap domain because the people are experianced. If you are not experianced enough it might be good to pay a little more and have the service so you know what to do.
