· #1 | | New Member | Icon Help Please Hi To You All,
A real newbie here so please forgive me if this is a silly question.
I have searched the forum but not found any relevant info so if someone could please point me in the right direction.
How do you go about putting the little image in the address bar before the url and how do you do the same with the little image in the favourites folder.
Many Thanks in advance.
Diane. |

| This quite a good question, it is know as favicon. If you create an icon or get one from the web. The image must be a 16x16 pixel designs. Then save it in your root directory on your web server as favicon.ico. Now every time you go to your site the icon will appear and it will also appear in the favourites directory. There is one catch however your host provider must support favicons or else you wont be able to do it!! Go to http://www.favicon.com/ for more info, hope this helps!! |

I know it works. Have tested it on both Netscape and IE.

| there are lots of icon createtion softwares..
thus you should create bitmap [bmp] files for it and you can then rename it as .ico
and you must give it name "favicon.ico" and place it in root. |
