WP Javascript help

Hello, I have a problem that is bugging the heck out of me. I really don't have any idea what i'd doing, so i've been going on trial and error. Anyway, I had a navigational menu made in Javascript and I am trying make it a full part of my site.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-discussion/151093-wp-javascript-help.html

1. here is the java menu to prove it is indeed working: http://www.sportslogs.com/test.htm

2. http://www.sportslogs.com/ thats the home page where I have tried to insert it. I tried to put an old flash one in the same spot and it worked fine, so I dunno.

3. I am editing the index.php file under my default theme. is that correct? ANY help is appreciated. I have been trying to get this site together forever it seems.

mch is on a distinguished road

I suppose you copied the script tags into the index.php. How did it look like? My first idea is to enclose those script tags with div's.
