![]() | HTML help.. how to code a layout? Ok see this, ![]() I want this to be my web page...and that box I drew on the left, I'd like to be a frame with my info in. However I want it to be kinda transparent like how I've made it look now...so you can see the background also..if you know what I mean.. Look at this site, www.skottieyoung.com You see how he has a frame on the right side of his page..his is not transparent, just a normal frame and solid colours. I want something like that, as in frame and look wise, but I just want mine also to have a transparent effect for the box..and my writing will go in there and stuff. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-discussion/127963-html-help-how-to-code-layout.html Someone enlighten me..pllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzz...tank you, tank you... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well see you can have a solid color but the only way to do the transparent would be to have a background image. You could have it like a purplish color with a border of transparency. I don't think you can easily get the transparent IFrame. Sorry, |

![]() | You can do this using a static background. If you slice that image correctly, all you have to do is set the iframe background to use that image as a static background. To do this with css you would use code similar to this: body { background-image: url('yourimagename.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed } |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yep, and they are running basic HTML. If he/she knows CSS that would be the correct code. If not, then someone will have to set it up. If you don't know CSS let me know and I can design your site for that layout for some NP$. |

![]() | ok man..i dont know css so if u could do it for me..also some guy mewntioned i dont even need iframes..better would be div tags or something.. "Fames can't have transparent backgrounds. They are in effect a hole in your page into which you put another page. The skottieyoung.com site doesn't use frames. He is using CSS to make a div with the atribute overflow:auto; so that scroll bars apear on the side of the div. You can then make the div have a transparency using some more CSS. Have a loot at http://www.q-4.net/tm_gallery/ this site does the same effect. View the source and you'll see how it created. No frames required." That site he has linkled to is kind of what i want. Yes your right by saying that box i made is where i want the text, but the difference between the skottie site and mine is..i want my area to also be transparent like the link the second guy gave...complicaTE |

![]() | donate np$...and rep?..whats rep?..and what is NP?... Can i make a quick suggestion for this hopefully before you finish it. My current site is www.um4r.com...I designed that myself and all but I get alot of neg feedback on it due to my coding being shit and it uses way too many frames and this transa[rent div tag thing seems real nice and easy. What I want is that bakground pic with the tag frame thing in the area like I've asked...but this is going to be like a portfolio site as I've just got a job designing flyers and stuff for nightclubs so its to show that kind of work. So like what im thinking is...there will be text there to say welcome etc..then links so u can view my gallery...im not sure how to present this. they will be thumbnails when u get to the gallery page..and u click them to see full size...but im not sure how to present this in the website..if u have any ideas let me know man ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=127963 i just had the idea that i'll have an intro page..then when u click on it, u get a window pop up which will be what im asking u to work on now..that large picture with the text frame thing...and within that i'll link to the gallery and all...but im confused as to how to project this to the viewer... thnx bryan |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | NP$ is what you get for posting. It says it under your name. Also, rep is like positive or negative points for people. I will give you rep (feedback) then it will send you a link to give me some. I have it done I am just trying to figure out overflow. It seems this overflow is only giving it to me horizontally and not returning when I specify the width. Also, your site is down. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=127963 Here is what i got. www.northeyhosting.com/um4r/ As you can see the scrollbar is off. I am trying to fix this. I will zip it when done and give you the link. If anyone knows the scrollbar fix please let me know. If I can't figure it out in time I can zip it and you can have someone tweak it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Okay, well Mozilla likes it and IE doesn't. It looks fine in both. Besides, most of the web design world hates IE. There you go all done, I am rezipping it now.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First off man, I was really insulted. I know you didn't have much NP$ and 6 was fine. I asked you to update my rep, as I updated yours. You then demanded that I spend more time figuring something out. If you didn't know every NP$ is worth between 1-2 cents. So you payed me like 8 cents of a job that is normally $10, then you demanded that I figure it out. You also did not update my rep...I don't see why I should help you in the future... |

![]() | Erm my site uses a transparent iframe? background-color: transparent ^in a style sheet and added the attribute allowtransparency="true" in my iframe tagging.
